Subject: Werewolves!
This was a very good show for the year. Thompson Arena at Dartmouth is not my favorite venue, accoustics can be muddy. Could not hear Keith at all or much
...
of Donna in the first set. Jerry was in good form. Second set was much better accoustically, and Werewolves was an awesone finale. Had to take the babysitter home to rural Brownsville VT after - think I made her question my mental stability, since we couldn't get her back. Great memories, my thanks to the recorder!

As a graduate of University Of Vermont I want to thank my friends at Dartmouth College for posting this. I knew the old Thompson rink and the sound is
...
excellent there. My brother drove Jerry and his wife from UVM down to NYC the next spring (maybe 1980, not sure- too much Blotter dude!!)
I knew a fella up at UVM who fixed a microphone into the front of his leather cowboy hat, the recorder inside the hat rested on his head. He recorder dozens of shows and was the first real deadhead I knew- I wonder if this recording is one of his bootlegs? I won't give his name, but his dog's name was Dusky Blue...

We traveled a bit from Jersey for da boys and to visit fellow heads at Dartmouth.THe first set had standards of the year. imagine gettin Lazy Lightning
...
as astandard! I remember Eyes being jumpy with alot of phil in the mix. Jerry sounded fine in voice and guitar. At this point we could hardly hear Keith and wondered at times if he was actually plugged in. I am not the biggest K&D fan but can't be too critical either, especially after the fabulous expereinces before and after this show. Mix is par to 78 standards. Performance was a notch above average. I had to get back to Jersey for work the next morning (fear and loathing at it's best:)). I howled for days after tha Werewolves.then we were blessed with 5-11!. Thnx archive and the taper dude for your contribution of fond times and music. 3.5
